Mess maker

Now that I am 9 months old, I am starting to try to do things by myself. I have mastered holding my own bottle and have moved on to feeding myself. Mommy has recently moved me to gerber graduates. Since our visit to Dr. Nancy, mommy is trying to work in more table foods. After all, she did say I could have table food at our 6 month appointment. My first finger food was spinch and cheese ravoli and diced carrots. It was very yummy, but after I finsihed, it was right to the tub for me. i was a mess! Note the carrots on my nose! ha! I worked extra hard to ge that carrot to stay there!

Peek-a-boo I-see-you

While visiiting Dr. Nancy last week, she asked mommy if I was playing peek-a-boo yet. Hmm. No - not yet. What is peek-a-boo? Is it fun?" Will I like it? Mommy told daddy we needed to start playing peek-a-boo and another game. I think it was patty-cake. So we have. I have really enjoyed peek-a-boo. Daddy hides under his blanket and I find him. It's grerat fun! Sometimes when daddy is just laying there i will try to pull the cover his head so we can play. he even reaches and out grabs me on the boo part! that's my favorite!

Back from seeing Dr. Nancy

Today was my 9 month appointment with Dr. Nancy. It was a pretty good visit. I am 22lbs 10 ounces and 30 inches long. I have more than doubled my birth weight! I have set into a pattern too. My head is in the 97th percentile still, my lenght is in the 95th percentile and my weight is in the 90th percentile. This has been my pattern for awhile. I hope this means that i will take after my daddy and be tall and slender! Dr. Nancy is very pleased with my progress. She is a good listener and is always interested in what I have to say and what I am currently doing. Like standing, babbling, flirting, playing shy, etc. She gives me fun sticks to play with while I am there too. And the best part is I only had to get one shot. I barely cried!

Here are a few outtakes from our 9 month birthday shoot. I am easily distracted, i crawl away, i cry, etc. Sometimes i just refuse to look at the camera. Good thing there is only 3 months left till I am a year old and mom stops this monthly nonsense! Secretly, I love all the pictures, even if I don't always show it!

Momma and Poppa bought me a convertible!!

It's official. I have moved out of my infant carrier and into my convertible car seat. Mommy spent a lot of time researching car seats and took me to the store to see which one suited me best. She knew my time in the carrier was coming to an end. I was growing by leaps and bounds and needed more room! A few weeks ago, mommy and poppa took me to the store and checked the seats out one last time. They decided on the Britax Marathon. The patterns are nothing to write home about. And it has to be gender neutral so the next baby can use it to. Not that I see a reason to worry about the next baby - I'm sure I will always be everyone's favorite baby!! My favorite part of the new car seat is the long strappy thing - i love to chew on it.

Gosh - time really flies when you are 8 months - well now 9 months! I am officially 9 months today! At 9 months, I am crawling, pulling up with furniture, cruising full speed ahead and standing on my own! wow! i am a busy (an talented!) girl :) I have - according to mom - the world's best gigggle. She and poppa love to listen to me giggle. and i will laugh at just about anything. I love to see hugo the wonder mutt get excited and bark and jump around. As long as he keeps his tail away from me, i could watch him jump around all day. he is a lot of fun. I laugh at mommy dancing with me and at poppa playing hide and seek. I am a very happy baby. I wonder what month 9 will have in store for me?? Anyone have any guesses? will i walk? will i run? feed myself, get more teeth? It's hard to say but my mommy will keep you updated! As always - here are my 9 month pictures! Every month it gets harder and harder for mommy to get these pictures. I am on the move so I crawl away, eat the paper, etc. But she does manage to get at least one good one! Enjoy!

Sassy Senorita!

Since I was born, mommy and I have had several (OK - thousands) of bonding moments. Alot of these were done while shopping. Mommy loves to shop and i love to go with her! We always have fun and I usually reap the benefits. Mommy finds me the cutest clothes. This shirt is one of my favorite! It says sassy senorita on it - it is from our favorite store - old navy. They have such fun, cute clothes. Mommy originally bought this shirt for Father's day. For those of you who know mommy well - you can skip down some. For the rest of you that may not know - my mommy is 1/2 mexican. She already knows she doesn't look the part. Everyone tells her that! On father's day my Buela's whole family gets together for a giant picnic/BBQ. I have heard it is quite fun! It can get quite crowded with all those aunts and uncles, cousins and friends! So mommy thought it would be funny to get this shirt for father's day. Unfortunately, I have grown so fast it looks like it may not fit by then!!! Don't worry though - she found me a onsie that says " you queiro a me papa!" even more fitting!! and it was from Old Navy too! I wore this shirt on Cinco de mayo when we went out to Tequila's for dinner with Aunt Kate. The servers thought it was quite funny!

Tooth #8

Tooth #8 has made it's appearence! I now have 4 top teeth and 4 bottom teeth. I have been eating a lot of new things too. I love my stage 3 foods. I do really well with them! My favorite is the vegatable beef. I like it the best!! I love eating fruit and veggie puffs too! I have tried cheerios and fruity cheerios too. I am getting better at standing these days. I use the furniture to pull up on, then i get my balance and stand and play with my toys. Mommy thinks I will be walking before I am 10 months - we will see!

Here are some pictures ( little late) of me and my easter goodies. The easter bunny brought me a really cute basket with my name on it, a brown bunny, a rooster, some easter little people and the movie "it's the easter beagle charlie brown". Mommy said it was the best easter movie ever. I will let you know after i watch it!!

i can stand all by myself!! I have been practicing all week and I can ow stand for 5-10 seconds all by myself! WOW! I wonder how long it will be before i can walk?? I can't wait to explore the kitchen - mommy has had me locked out since i could crawl!

Back from Chicago

I am back home with my momma and poppa!! I had a wonderful time with my grannies! Mommy called me every day to check on me. I spent Saturday with my Buela. Her and grandpa played with me all day! Buela said I kept her very busy! On Easter Sunday, Buela took me to my Nana's for the day. Nana was able to take monday off from work and keep me at her house. We had a great time too! I played with Payton on Easter sunday and even hunted some easter egss! Momma and poppa said they had a great time in Chicago. They had a wonderful time at Toni and John's on Easter. The food was delicious and John's family was so much fun! I can't wait till I can go to Chicago and meet them. I also showed momma my newest trick - blowing spit bubbles!! You should try it - it's great fun!

Another milestone :)

I can stand by myself. Recently mommy and daddy have noticed that I will pick up a toy and lean up against the couch. Once I have my balance, i will stand un-supported and play with the toy. I will stand there for 5-10 seconds! Mommy thinks I will walk early because I am very daring and show no fear. I get that from daddy!
For the past week to 2 weeks we have had beautiful weather, we have even went for a few stroller rides. Of course now that mommy and daddy have made big plans for our first family trip a cold snap has settled in over us. After a long talk, mommy and daddy decided to leave me here with my grannies while they go to Chicago. I was excited that I would get to see my Buela and my nana for easter! what fun! and I bet mommy and daddy have a great time in Chicago!

Shake it baby, shake it baby!

This is my shake it baby face. I love to shake everything shakeable. Cups of cheerios, rattles, toys, my bottle. I will sit there and shake them all day long. Momma even helps me shake my booty! I love this rattle. It is at my Buela's house. It is my favorite toy there. Momma has a song she made up that she sings to me when I shake something. I love it when she sings to me! By the way, this wasn't my whole outfit. I had my easter dress on but it was impossible to crawl in! Here I am in my dress with my Buela and Buelo Butch.

Cat face

This is Bootylicious - or Booty for short. She hasn't had a moment's peace since I have learned to crawl. I love booty and am always on the look out for her. I don't really want to touch her, I just want to chase her and be by her. She is equally as interested in me. Well, maybe not as equal. But she does want to sniff me. I just never sit still long enough for her to do that! Mom even says i have cat face. When she is trying to feed me or change me, if I hear Boooty's collar, i will contort myself to see where she is. It's no joke...

Tooth #6 has arrived! And so has my newest friend Shelby Nichole. Congrats to her mom and dad on such a beautiful girl! I can't wait till she is old enough to play with me!! Back to my teeth - I feel like I am a tooth making machine. Number 6 is my top outer left tooth. Since I have gotten these last 2 teeth in , I am back to sleeping through the night again! It's hard work making teeth. Here is a brief look at Shelby! She looks so tiny!

when I want to I can wave bye-bye! I am learning so many new things these days. I am also looking forward to my first real trip! Mom and Pop are taking me to Chicago! I will be spending my first Easter in the windy city! While we are there, we will be going to the Chicago Cubs home opener. I will also get to see my cousin Toni and John along with thier 4 kids - Meghan, Amanda, Matthew and Andrew. I can hardly wait! Mom has bought me some very cute outfits for me to wear while I am there, Aunt Kate did too! She bought me a Chicago cubs jacket, headband and my first cubbie hat! Nana Kathy also bought me a pink warm up suit featuring the cubbie logo! I can hardly wait! Here is a pic of the outfit momma got me to wear to the game! The other pic is me in my Cubs hat with my onsie from cousin Alyssa. She went to DIsney and bought this for me! Check out my knees! Can you see how much I have been crawling?

More teeth

Recently I have been somewhat of a cranky butt. Well, that's what mom calls me. It seems I had good reason. I have been trying to get these teeth to come through and I have managed to get one more in! Tooth #5 is in! It is on the bottom right side. Five down, too many more to count. I have also figured out out to sit on my knees and play with my toys. Dad thinks I look really cute like this!

Amelia has been babbling now for some time. She often babbled things like "mmmmm" or "aaaaa", sometimes it sounds like she is saying "hi". Two weeks ago she figured out how to say dada. She loves to babble dada dada dada all day long. I have been waiting patiently to hear her say mama. This morning while crawling around the living room she slipped on a toy and started to fuss. She got back up and crawled over to me and pulled up on my leg. Once she was standing by me she looked at me at said "mama". I have to say - it was priceless. How is it possible that my baby can say 2-3 words! Where has the time went? Her daddy and I both agree, we love to listen to her babble - regardless of what she says.

Cruising

I am now cruising the furniture! While momma was chatting on the phone she noticed I had pulled myslef up at the end of the couch. Didn't know I could do that? You must have missed an entry! I have been pulling up for at least a week!! Back to my story - while mommy was talking to her friend Lori (they talk a lot!), I slowly made my way down to where she was in the recliner. Mommy was so surprised to see me standing next to her! Here are some pictures of me playing!

I am eight months old!

I am officially eight months old. I am growing by leaps and bounds. In summary for this month, I have learned how to crawl, pull up and I got my 4th tooth! I can also stand with help and drink from a cup. I was also sick this month. I had a small bug but it took it's toll on me. All I wanted was to roll around my momma's lap and be held. Luckily it only lasted 2 days and then I was feeling back to my old self again. Looking forward into month 9 I predict that I will be walking before it is over! Or at least by the end of month 10! I am on the move!

Yesterday I had a lot of excitement. Not only did my new friend Zoe come over, but i got to see all my friends from my St. Louis playgroups! Zoe came all the way Iowa to see me. She was a lot of fun to play with. Here is a picture of me and Zoe!
