The sock thief
one day i was minding my own business, playing on my play mat when my sock was abruptly taken! At first it was just one sock, and it suddenly turned into both socks! who would want my socks?? they are small, so the thief would need small feet. no one in the house had feet smaller than mine except bootylicious, and she is afraid of me.
i think my sock thief has been spotted! and she has stretched my socks out to fit her feet!!

7 bags
We have had a shorter run than i anticipated. This is one of 7 bags that we have left of my frozen breast milk. It makes me sad when i think about how much i wanted to exclusively breast feed lucas and how i was unable too. i thought it might be different this time, but it wasn't. It was shorter than with mia. I breast fed her (with formula bottles) for almost 6 months. Lucas and I have made it 3 so far. We may make it to four, but it would be once a day breast-feeding, nothing super nutritional. Lucas weighed in at 16lbs 5 oz at 3 months so I guess his nutritional needs are being met, even if it's not from me.

Although Luke is five days younger than bella, I think Luke is the bigger turkey!! Happy Thanksgivng everyone!
a flash from the past
This is amelia, wearing my winnie the pooh dress, circa 1977. I was totally, completly in love with this dress when I was a little girl. I wanted to wear it everywhere i went. it had a can-can slip with bells in it and i loved to spin and shake in it. I remember begging my mom not to get rid of it and asking her to save it for my little girl. i guess i did a good job because she kept it!! And just like me, Amelia loves this dress! It is her dancin dress! She loves to wear it wear it while watching her dancin movie (hairspray). I wore this dress when I was 4. i had it on for preschool pictures. i will try to find it to post for comparison. My mom couldn't believe how much she looked like me in this dress. Amelia is 2 1/2 in this picture. hmm, anyone think she may end up taller than her momma??

Movie recommendations from Mia
Amelia has a few movies that she loves and wants to recommend. Most are typical of her age:
Over the hedge, or as mia calls it, RJ. this one became a hit when mia had the flu last winter. i think Darrin and I have it memorized, because it was the only thing she wanted to watch while she was sick!! She loves the animals and the action. she likes to tell us what sounds the animals make!

another favorite is Ratatouille, or rat movie. I think she was under the weather when she started liking this one too. It is a cute movie, the first 100 times! We are not sure why she picked this movie, she must have her own ideas on this one.

Her newest movie is kinda funny - Hairspray!! it was on cable recently, so Darrin and I were watching it. amelia was mesmerized and now asks to watch it, calling it dancing movie. her favorite part"twist twist twist twist, mashed potato, mambo". she likes to shimmy shake to that part! very cute!! and she likes the final dance scene - she loves to dance to that!!

another flash-back
This outfit was orginally darrin's, it's circa 1973. Luke's nana kept it all these years so of course i had to put it on luke!! and as much as amelia resembles me, luke resembles darrin!!

three months

Dear Lucas,
today you are 3 months! 3 months. I can hardly believe it. What is 4 months with you like? wonderful, joyous, new. You are such a good baby! You are growing so fast, right before my eyes. I am trying to take in each moment, as you are my last baby. You are smiling more and more, and have even let a belly laugh or two through. Your entire face lights up when you smile and it melts my heart. You have found your hands and have them in your mouth all the time. I think you will be an early teether like your sister. she had 2 teeth at 4 months 2 days!! You have the best eyebrows! what a weird compliment, but they arch so perfectly around your eyes. i just love them! they are so expressive of your emotions! You are also beginning to hold your toys and stretch your little arms out to reach for things. You have the typical baby bald spot in the back too! And you are now a paci and blanket baby! Amelia had a serious love affair with her paci and blankie and i suspect you will as well. We made it through taking her paci away and we will survive it with you also. You have even rolled over! Your daddy was so excited when you rolled over for him, calling me to tell me "he did it, he did it!!". I'm sure we will have a million more moments to be so proud of you and reclaim that excitement. When you crawl, walk and graduate from med school.
When i was pregnant with you, I wondered how I could love anyone like i love Amelia, but once i saw you, i just did. it just happened, and it is so unexplainable to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of having multiple children. It is has been a wonderful 3 months and i look forward spending many, many more months with you lucas micheal.

We caught a virus
and not the human kind - the computer kind. it sucks. i have over 10,000, maybe 20,000 images on this system. and i hate to say this but they are not backed up. yikes. i know, i know - always back up your files! it's the golden rule of photography and parenting. i just sat tonight and watched videos of Mia crawling and walking, chewing on her feet and playing with the dog. I would be crushed to lose them so we have a plan. We are taking the system in for a well-puter visit and a DVD burner installation. pronto. i will then be backing up all pics on cd's and archiving them. seriously - how long will that take to archive 10-20K in pics?? any ideas? no worries - i will get it done and then breathe a huge sigh of relief. So after this plethora of posts, we will be on hiatus again while the 'puter gets an over hall and checked for bugs.
