The Baptism

Lucas was baptised on September 29, 2008. He was baptised by Pastor Kim, which was something that was important to me for many reasons. She baptised Darrin before we were married, she then married us, and baptised Amelia Rose. She is so unique and truly and asset to any church she is at. She is hip and current, and brings that to her sermons. She finds a way to relate to everyone and I love that about her. She is very easy to talk to and so genuine. And she is a Cubs fan! Well - now you know how close to perfect she is and why we love her! It was a wonderful ceremony and Lucas was an angel. A crying angel, but and angel nonetheless! here are some pics!

Random Lucas

Here are some shots of Lucas in his new crib. He enjoys hanging out there and sleeps much better than he ever did in his bassinet. Now if I could only stay awake to get him there in the middle of the night....

I think Lucas is trying to figure out who is looking at him from that mirror. He is quite handsome, that's for sure! Amelia was never interested in this mirror, Lucas has liked it from the beginning. they are completely different, no doubt about it.

Being 2

it's hard work! i like to catch a nap when i can - today it was during my lunch!!

first smile

Lucas let us have a glimpse of his first smile today!! it was so cute, so toothless and big! I hope we can capture on on film soon! and by film i mean digital file!

Breastfeeding

Since I have had Lucas, Amelia has taken an interest in breastfeeding. She often asks me to take her "dress" off (her shirt) so she can breastfeed her babies. she will sit down next to me and "feed" them. While driving home one night, i hear her talking to her baby, telling them "it's ok purple baby, mia will feed you nipple" and ramblings of her going to take her dress off. she was in her car seat, buckled in so i thought there was no way she could get her dress/shirt off. i was wrong. I guess she has seen me breastfeed Lucas in the car, she thought there was no reason she couldn't feed her babies too!

amelia has flipped over this...

it's what she says she wants for christmas. i don't know where she picked up the idea. she is so independent in her thinking, she is always surprising us :) and she is so advanced for her tender 2 years -arn't most 2 year olds asking for toys? i am so proud!

ok - i am fibbing. i really want this. i need it so i can torture my kiddos with yet another device to record their childhood! they will thank me for all this recording in the future. i'm quite sure of it.

freeze

doesn't it look like someone just yelled freeze and he was caught in the act?? Only thing he is guilty of is being super cute!! I love this boy!!

month one

Lucas is officially one month old! It seems like it has been longer, but i think that is because my recovery has been so much easier than with Amelia. His stats are:

23 inches

Go Lucas!!! His head is in the 95% and his weight is in the 75%. I was quite happy that he was back over his birth weight already. Here are some one month pics for your viewing pleasure.
