A little about baby

Just a quick update on the baby and from my ultrasound on April 29th at 23 weeks. the baby is very active and had changed from transverse to head down. The US tech was less than thrilling (again). It was the same US tech as the first time at 19 weeks so i wasn't really surprised. she did all the appropriate measurements and made no real attempt to see his heart. I did, however, call my OB's office and ask for a new tech and a new location. I have a new US scheduled on May 21st. Hopefully little neublit will put on a great show and let us see his heart! He is really kicking up quit a storm, once he kicked so hard the remote moved. I missed all this with Amelia due to an anterior placenta.
Oh, on an exciting note, i won a 3d/4d ultrasound! i entered at BRU on mother's day weekend and won! I am excited -those pics will be up on June 7th! I can't wait to see what/who this little one looks like! i think from this ultrasound he has Darrin's face shape. From Amelia's ultrasound we found out she had hair, my lips, my nose and Darrin's hands. And she does. Only she makes them look much cuter than we do! He was measuring 1lb 7oz at this ultrasound. Average for a 23 week baby is 1lb 1oz. Just a little above the norm. Here is his most recent pic - this is a face shot from the front. the white part is his nose. Darrin likes to say "it's like looking at a polar bear eating ice cream in a snow storm". Hopefully you will find it a little easier to see him!

Our first road trip

Recently Amelia and I went on our first road trip. Our friends Andrea and Shelby (darren too) are moving soon - and not just a few miles away - hundreds of thousands of miles away. all the way to Germany! We decided to go spend a few days with them before they left. I should mention, the furthest I had driven alone was Springfield, IL so this was going to be quite an adventure. I packed our suitcases, loaded the car and off we went. Oh, and thanks to amelia's Tia, we also had a portable DVD player to help ease our trip. We went on a lot of fun day trips while we were there and have some fun pics to show for it! enjoy!

Here is what you see when you enter Ohio - not bad. a nice small blue arch. I have heard that imitiation is the most sincere form of flattery.

Here is what you see when you enter Missouri - I don't think ohio's arch is as quite as nice as our St. Louis arch! On with the pictures! Here is Shelby waiting on her Sushi on our first night there.

Amelia tries to master chop sticks!

We went to the outlet mall on day 2, and i have no pics from that. Hmm, well we did shop A LOT and got a few great deals - stride rite sandals for $14.99, stride rite tennis shoes for $14.99 and lots of clothes for the baby. Mostly in 6-9 month range. The next day we went to Young's Dairy Farm to visit the goats and eat ice cream :) Yummy! Amelia was most excited to go!

Amelia wanted to ride the barrel car ride - what is this thing called? anyone? She had ridden it at the punkin patch before so i thought we were all set. i was wrong. Here she is getting strapped in. (note:she is about 4 cars from the end)

She took her puppy with her - i advised her against it, but she would not be swayed.

Amelia adjust the wheel... And they're off! Bye Amelia, have fun!!
Meanwhile, Shelby went to meet the goats!
And the return - apparently Amelia started crying 1/2 way through the ride and the driver had to stop and go get her. Poor Amelia. I felt so bad for her. I think it might have had something to do with the evil kneivel driver. she really had this little ride going!
After her thrill ride, Mia decided to take things down a notch and go see the goats. Much more her speed. She really liked them!

And she really liked feeding them.

they were more interested in eating her puppy and her hat.
Andrea thought the barrel ride looked like fun and decidd to take a spin! i told her she was too big, but she was determined to go!
just kidding - she was really taking Shelby for a ride! She did attest that the lady had the ride moving and shaking!
That was our trip to Young's Dariy farm. As for the rest of our trip, we had a great time! We went to the world's biggest smallest toy story in hippie-ville USA, to the outlet mall for a day of shopping and to some small boutiques too. It was a great trip all around! thanks for having us!

Amelia's first job

Amelia has a daily routine that we go through. Well, most days. The days that I am home in the morning. We wake up, watch seseme street until elmo's world comes on - or amelia annouces "mia eat" - which ever comes first. We then eat breakfast. After breakfast, amelia goes to Hugo's food bin and says "fed do do". i am quite fond of her calling him do do, as he is pretty silly :) We count out four scoops and hopefully amelia pours it into his bowl. on occasion she misses and hits the floor. thankfully "do do" isn't too picky.

hold bebe!

Amelia loves her babies. there is big baby, the twin babies, wet baby and little baby. And the puppy. When we go anywhere, one baby must come with us these days. it is usually one of the twins. unless we are taking a shower - then it can only be wet baby (obviously). If, by chance, amelia catches us sitting at the computer or watching TV, this is what happens. i think it is quite funny! I'm not so sure darrin is amused.
