bound and re-bound
here is an adorable short from pixar that is currently mia's favorite. it is cute, rhymes and is narrated by burt reynolds. she watches it daily, or more if we let her. and here are the words because you will want to sing along! you may find yourself breaking out in high stepp'n dance!!
Here’s a story on how strange is life with its changesAnd it happened not long ago.On a high mountain plain, where the sagebrush arrangesA playground south of the snowLived a lamb with a coat of remarkable sheen,It would glint in the sunlight all sparkly and clean,Such a source of great pridethat it caused him to preen. And he’d break out in high stepp’n dance.He would dance for his neighbors across the way.I must say that they found his dancin’ enhancin’,For they’d also join in the play.
Then one day…
Then a-boundin up the slopeCame a great American jackalope.This sage of the sage, this rare hare of hope,Caused to pause and check out the lamb.“Hey kid, why the mope?”
“I used to be something all covered with fluff,And I’d dance in the sunlight and show off my stuff,Then they hauled me away in a manner quite roughAnd sheared me and dropped me back here in the buff.And if that’s not enoughNow my friends all laugh at meCause they think I look ridiculous, funny, and pink.”
“Pink? Pink? Well, what’s wrong with pink?Seems you’ve got a pink kink in your think.Does it matter what color? Well, that gets nope.Be it pink purple or heliotrope.Now sometimes you’re up and sometimes you’re down,When you find that you’re down well just look around:You still got a body, good legs and fine feet,Get your head in the right place and hey, you’re complete!

So every year, along about May,They’d load him up and they’d haul him away,And they’d shave him and dump him all naked and bare.He learned to live with it, he didn’t care,He’d just bound, bound, bound, and rebound.
Now in this world of ups and downs…So nice to know there are jackalopes around.

Mia's christmas party
Mia's pre-school hosted a winter party before everyone went on christmas break. Since I was off work I was able to volunteer to help in her room. They made an ornament ball with their handprint on it, a manger scene with stickers, decorated cookies and listened to some stories about christmas. Mia was super excited that i was there and only wanted me helping her. I thought that was awefully cute! after all that, we went and ran around the track. the kids loved that!

the candy cane hunt
This year I took Mia to the Faust annual candy cane hunt. it really wasn't much of a hunt, more of scramble. they cany cane's were everywhere. i don't recall how many their were, but it was a lot! Mia had a blast, running all over to pic them up, trying not to miss any! i can't wait to take her again next year. I hope it is slightly warmer next year though. i was COLD!! altogether she found 36 candy canes and 4 prizes. go mia!
