Amelia's book club, #3

Amelia is ready to make another reading suggestion. Her current recommendation is:

Barnyard dance! By: Sandra Boynton

The synopsis: Grab your partner a get ready for a fantastic story. "Stomp your feet! Clap your hands! Everybody ready! For a barnyard dance!" This creative story will have you moving and dancing to rhythmic beat of the story. The words rhyme as they dance you through the book. From "bow to the horse, Bow to the cow. Twirl with the pig if you know how." To "With an oink and a moo and a quack quack quack, the dance is done, but we’ll be back!" Whether you like western dancing or not you will not be able to help yourself from moving your feet and clapping your hands when you read this book to your preschooler. Your young child will be learning animal sounds without even knowing they are learning. The illustrations are absolutely delightful.

This is definitely one of Amelia's favorites. She will clap her hands and stomp her feet every time. She brings it to me to read to her frequently. It has a great rhythm and is easy to sing/read to her. This book gets her official five sticky fingers seal of approval!

IPOD fan

Amelia is an IPOD fan, or maybe she is an IPOD junkie. She sees her daddy's IPOD and immediatly wants to listen to it. she calls it his "hi". she tells Darrin all the time "listen daddy's hi". Darrin will turn it on and give her an earphone. she listens and dances around, loving every minute. She definalty loves her music. One of her favorites she listens to is Liz Phair's extraordinary. she likes that one a lot.

amelia's book club, #2

For Amelia's second book review, she is recommending:

The Gossie series by: Olivier Dunrea

The synopsis: We have 3 of the gossie books and they are quite popular with Amelia. We have: Gossie, Gossie and Gertie and Ollie the Stomper. Gossie features a little goose who loves wearing her bright red boots everywhere. One morning, they are missing. Searching everywhere, Gossie becomes increasingly distressed until she finds her boots on the feet of another, slightly smaller gosling. The last page shows the duo walking together, each wearing one red boot. In Gossie & Gertie, Gossie in her red boots and Gertie in blue ones are inseparable companions. Gossie, who expects Gertie to follow her lead, is increasingly annoyed when Gertie follows her own path. Ollie the Stomper is a follow-up to Gossie and Gertie series. Ollie is the younger brother to the older goslings. And like younger brothers everywhere, he follows the bigger kids around. You see, "Gossie wears bright red boots" and "Gertie wears bright blue boots." Ollie stomps around after them, wanting boots, too, as the bigger kids have adventures. Finally Ollie takes a stand, standing up on an overturned bucket and demanding: "I want boots!"
These books are some of Amelia's favorites. She likes to point out the ducks or "balks" as she calls them. I like that we can practice our colors too! Along with under this and over that. Ollie the stomper is too cute, especially since we have Mia the stomper living with us. These also get Amelia's five sticky finger seal of approval!

Happy Father's Day

Every year on father's day, we have a family reunion. My mom is one of many! There are 11 brothers and sisters left! We rent a pavillion and everyone brings food. this year was our 40th reunion, so we made it a big celebration! There was a ton of mexican food to be had, along with pinata's, attendance prizes and lots of fun! Amelia had a great time - she even went swimming for awhile.

the shirt says it all

I am one Sassy girl! This shirt was made for Mia! These were taken when she insisted that she wanted to swing or as she calls it "weee". so i took her. come to find out, she really wanted to sit in her swing ans play with the buckles. Amelia is obsessed with buckles or as she calls them "bupples". Buckles fasicinate her and she will sit and play with them for a good while. Whatever makes her happy!!
