summer, are you out there??

I am SO tired of winter. i need some time outside, time to run and play. i am so looking forward to wearing capri's and short sleeves! I want to go swimming and play at the park!! please tell me that summer is coming, or at least spring!! Summer, are you out there??

We have a date....

We will be going for the ultrasound on March 31st!! Anyone who knows me knows I am a planner from way back! I love to plan!! My next project will be planning for our new baby, but in order to do that, I need to know what this baby is!! I hope this baby is cooperative and shows his (or her) stuff!!

feeling better

So it has taken then entire month of February, but i am happy to report that we are all over the flu/virus/pneumonia that plagued us. It is wonderful to have everyone feeling better and have them be back to normal!! Well, as normal as some of us get!

Curious Amelia

Here is a video of Amelia, acting like curious george. One day i noticed that she was taking her snacks and puts them between her first and second toes and then lifting her foot up to her mouth to eat it. I couldn't figure out what she was doing at first, but one day we were watching george and i noticed he likes to eat with is feet, hence curious Amelia.

Here is Melia, fresh from the shower. how cute is she??!! We bought these towel at the kohl's christmas sale! They were only $7 each!! so it was like buy one, get 3 free! we have a dog, frog, elephant and duck! they are all this cute too! They are made of a very sturdy bath towel materiel and should last Melia for awhile! Stay tumed for amelia to model the other ones!!

The flu has found us

Amelia continued with her fevers and lethergy, so off to see Dr. nancy we went. When we got there, nurse Tim listened to her, checked out her eyes, ears, nose and throat. they all looked fine. So, the next stop was to check amelia for the flu. Tim said it would take about 10 minutes for the results. Two and a half minutes later it was positive. There is no real treatment for the flu, just treat the symptoms. So we have been encouraging PO intake (drinking fluids...lol), offering different foods she may or probably won't eat, and holding/loving on her alot. Oh, and motrin and tylenol for the fever. She is in OK spirits for 1/3 of the day, down playing and running and laughing. She is a tough little one, our Melia Rose. I hope she is feeling better within a few days, although the average duration time is 7 to 10 days. That's a long time to be sick, especially when you are one!

first cold, then hot

Today when i woke up, it was a winter wonderland outside. Poppa had the day off because of all the snow, so we decided to bundle up and go play!! There was mile after mile of snow! I couldn't wait! Mommy went and bought me some super cute boots while i took my morning nap, so we were set when I woke up! After momma layered me up (2 shirts, 2 pants, thick socks, baby gloves, coat and a hat we were off! Even Hugo came out to play! He likes to put his face in the snow and try to eat snowballs! Silly Gogo. It was so much fun! After we played, we came in, had lunch and then everyone took a nap! Where does the hot come in?? after we woke up, poppa noticed that I was looking a little red in the cheeks and just laying around. yep - i have a fever. being sick stinks! Momma gave me some motrin and we hung out on the couch. And momma got the magic phone call. It was as if the other nurses at her job knew I needed her and said she could stay home! I was so glad for that. For dinner I did eat some chicken and stars and applesauce. it tasted yummy! I learned a new word today too. No, not the F or S word that everyone thinks i will be saying! I learned apple! I like to say it more like aaa apple. too cute! the motrin seems to be working as my fever came down, so maybe by tomorrow I will be feeling better! I sure hope so, there is a ton of snow left out there I didn't get to taste!!

moo, balk, and baaa

Amelia has learned some new sounds - animal sounds. My favorite to hear her say is duck. if you ask her what a duck says she will say " balk, balk". Another favorite is monkey which is A, OO OO. I have told her a duck says quack and a monkey says oo oo aa aa, but she likes to put her own spin on things. Some other animal sounds she likes is meow and woof, which are said more like ME ow, ME ow and arff arff. She also know a bird says tweet tweet, a cow says mooo, and a sheep says baaa. Watching her say cow is pretty cute too - she uses her whole head to get the mooo out. I am working on pig and lion. I will keep you all updated!

August 22, 2008 seems like it is a million years away, well, at least to me! But I'm sure it will be here before we know it. Daddy will be back in school after a much needed summer break from school kids, I will hopefully be potty trained, and we will become a family of FOUR!!! That's right everyone, right before Christmas, mommy discovered that there was a baby on the way! Until now it has been top secret, but we finally decided to let everyone in on our secret!! Although mommy and daddy keep telling me about this baby coming, i don't really understand what they are saying. I'm sure when the baby is here, crying all night and eventually playing with my toys, I'm sure I will understand what they have been telling me!

2, 3

these are my new numbers that i have learned! Mommy likes to count while we do everything - wipe my hands and mouth (1,2,3!), when i jump, when we buckle up in the car, when i get dressed (arm, arm, head = 1,2,3!) etc. I have been listening and just yesterday when mommy said one, i said tooooo fre which mommy is sure meant two and three! i like to exhagerate the two! I guess mommy will have to find ways to count higher every day so I can learn more numbers!!

the is walking and then there is walking! I like to walk! I have several styles all my own - wide walking, low walking, tip toe walking and the newest is knee walking! wide walking is feet far apart, more of a wide waddle. low walking is when i crouch down and walk - it's very funny! tip toe is kinda common and just like it sounds - but also fun, as is knee walking. i can walk very quickly while knee walking. i almost caught the cat knee walking the other day! Mommy has been trying to capture my style of walking, but I am too fast for her - kinda like the cat is too fast for me!

Christmas here at Mia's house has been quite a whirlwind. Mommy was able to get off for christmas eve and christmas! I have had my mommy to myself for a week, and daddy has the next week off too! It will be quite and adjustment when everyone has to return to their regularly scheduled programs. I received everything a girl could want and more. My favorites so far are my twins and their stroller. i walk them everywhere! I aslo love my pop up toy. i sit and play with it for hours on end. I love all my gifts and want to thank everyone for everything! I hope everyone else had a wonderful christmas as well!

a wonderful surprise!

We were so excited to find our friends on our doorstep today! Shelby and her parents came by to see us! There was a mix up with their arrival time so we were able to see them! Shelby is getting so big, she was able to sit and play with me this time. and she showed us her beautiful smile and her dancing skills. I think he gets cuter every time we see her! I can't wait till we can go see her in the spring! I bet she will be walking by then!!

Trick pony

For Christmas last year I received a pony from my Buela. I have become a master horseman in that last year. In fact, i have taught myself a few tricks that i can do on said pony. I can climb on from either side, slide off his back and stand on him too! I am quite the dare devil! her are some pics to prove it!
