4 months
Lucas is now four months, growing and changing right before our eyes! You smile and laugh, but not as freely as we would like. He makes us work for each and every smile! He almost has a tooth, it should be here very soon! He will chew on everything, including his momma and pop! He is officially rolling now, back to belly. He takes his leg and swings it and flips himself right over! He is still trying to figure out belly to back! He does the same thing Mia used to do, flip onto hsi belly, fuss to be turned back and if no one arrived, put your head down in defeat! He has yet to figure out how to sleep on his belly so he has been having some interupted nights, but nothing too intolerable. We just flip you back over and back to sleep you go! Lucas is also spending more time in the exasaucer! he really likes that - he can be upright and see what is going on around him! And he has officially outgrown the bouncy and the swing! At his last dr's visit, he weighed in at 18lbs, 9oz and 26 inches! what a hunk!we tried
Lucas has been steadily eating 8 ounce bottles every 4 hours, so we thought maybe he was ready for cereal!! I bought the rice cereal, mixed it up and we tried. and tried, and tried again. it was a no go! he just isn't ready, which is fine with me. Amelia was 5 months when we started her on cereal, so maybe in another month we'll try again. he was 18lbs 9 ounces at his 4 months appt so i think nutritionally he is pretty sound!

Santa, take 2.
We tried to get better pics of the kids with santa. We heard he was making a stop at picture people so we went to see him. As excited as Mia was when she heard we were going, when we actually got there, she changed her mind and wanted nothing to do with him. Maybe next year. of course - then luke will probably be screaming! And Mia also wasn't on board with holding lucas - she sat with him for maybe 5 seconds and she was off.

She did read the night before christmas to him

one of my favorites
my absolute favorite - look at the chub! He is such buster!

a thing of the past
so it was decided that Mia's long time affair with her "fussy" needed to end. it was a good thing gone bad. she was starting to ask for it all the time and would hide in her closet with it. it had went from something to pacify her to something she was desperate to have all the time.
Almost 2 weeks ago, I went in to put her down for bed and we said our good night prayers. i rubbed her head, we counted sheep and she was almost out when bolted up in bed and said "i need my fussy!" i told her that Dr. Nancy told us she was officially too big and we gave them to the new babies that were born. she layed back down and right when she was almost asleep she bolted up again, asking for her "fussy". i told her i would go call dr. nancy and if she said she could have it i would bring it to her. Well, she fell asleep and slept all night.
The next night she asked 2 or 3 times, and eventually fell asleep. We were worried because night 3 of being FF (fussy free),i had to work. Amelia prefers her daddy and i to both be home with her and can act up if only one of us is here, but she remained FF. I think on night 5 she had a meltdown and cried for an hour. that is enough to drive anyone crazy. and the weird thing is, she wasn't asking for the fussy, she wanted out of bed!!
It has been 10 days since we went FF and i think we are all much happier! Mia's poppa loves that her speech is clearing up, and she no longer has fussy breath when she wakes up so her teeth are happier too!! Dr. Nancy and Dr. Lori are going to be so proud of you too!
Congratulations Mia!! Momma and Poppa are so proud of what a big girl you are becoming. Next, we tackle potty training and a big girl bed!
