summer fun

Mommy and I went on a walk recently and made a new discovery - the sno cone shoppe! It was my first sno cone of the season and well, my first sno cone ever. Except it wasn't in a cone - it was in a dish! It was strawberry kiwi -yummy. i ate almost the whole thing! I tasted mommy's too! her's was strawberry pineapple! It was super hot out and the sno cones really hit the spot!

Amelia received a set of twins for Christmas and she was instantly in love. they are a boy and girl set, blue baby and purple baby. one of them, if not both, go everywhere with us. she sleeps with them, she eats with them, she loves on them! here are a few spring pics of amelia with blue baby. i tried to get blue baby out of the pics, but amelia was set on having him there. I hope she likes her brother that much! i only wish they were machine washable...

Outdoor fun, part 2

We are currently staging our house so we can move. That means going through everything, tossing what we no longer need or can't figure out why we kept it to begin with, and packing up all the stuff we may still need when we eventually move. While going through some of amelia's cards, i ran across a gift card to babies r us. I was so excited! i wanted to get something fun for ameila, so i tucked it away and watched the BRU ads. It took me about a week to find something fun for her - a water table. It was made by step 2 and best of all there was no sand table to go with it! It is perfect amelia size. And she loves it. Once she figured out what it was for, she dove in! She splashed and splashed! She also discovered that she could scoop out the water and pour it out on people - mainly her poppa and i! It will definitatly provide her with some fun water relief during our super hot summers!

Ri is my BFF Lori. BFF - how long has it been since you have seen that?? She was my best friend before that was created - so a long time! If i tell you how long it might reveal her age!! LOL! Lori is super crafty and super talented in so many ways. Not only has she photographed my sweet baby girl since before she was born, she has made wall letters for amelia, 2 scrapbooks, and helped me learn about photography along the way. She has even encouraged me to scrapbook myself - something that is an effort for me and effortless for her. So, now that baby #2 is coming she is got her crafty gloves on and is at it again. I mentioned how maybe i could get a slipcover for amelia's bouncy seat, as it is pepto-bismol pink. It was our only gender specific purchase. Lori was ready for the challenge. We shopped for minky material, bought some other things we might need and she was off. About 2 1/2 hours later, she was done and i have a blue bouncy for the baby! I then made a templete for burp clothes that I had seen and she made those too. She is one crafty girl! Here are some pics of the bouncy. Once i take some pics of the burp cloths, i will post them too. They are so soft and super cute! Thanks for everything Lori, especially for being my BFF!

Happy Early Birthday Amelia!

I have wanted to get amelia a little tykes climber for awhile now. I have been keeping an eye out on craigslist, trying to get one. They move fast. I did finally find her one, had some fading but still in solid shape. And just as I had hoped, Amelia loves it! she climbs on it, trys to jump off, climbs up the slide, plays peek a boo, etc! it is a hit. i hope she plays on it for hours, and eventually the baby can play on it too!

aunt kate and mommy finally got their schedules coordinated so we could get together! We have been trying to find time to see each other and it has been plain hard! We went to dinner and had yummy mexican food. we all had a great time! Hopefully it won't be that long till we see her again! she makes me giggle!

Little Rosie's Red Ride

Last year for her birthday, nana and pawpaw bought amelia a red wagon. she rode in it last year, but it didn't seem like she really enjoyed it. This year is a different story. she loves it! we took her and "do do" for a walk and she had a blast. we spotted some bunnies along the way and a few other puppies! some were nice, others not so much. The bunnies are pretty interesting - they seem to be wild bunnies, but they are black. I had never seen a black wild bunny before. complete with long, floppy ears and all. Orginally, i thought there was one wild black bunny, but apparently there are a few! We saw 3 on our walk, 2 more were spotted by Grandma De and Grandpa Rog. they appear well fed as they are quite chubby! maybe there are babies on board! We will have to wait and see!

Grant's Farm 2008

We took our first trip of the year to Grant's Farm with some friends of ours. We had a great time! Amelia was not fond of the tram. She repeated "no mommy, no" the entire time. Once we got off the tram, she was good! She loved the animals, especially the goats. She fed one goat, but after that she was happy to watch them. But they smelled the milk and wanted to eat. Amelia kept telling them "No!", and "that's enough" in her stearnest voice. they didn't listen. they chewed on her pants. and mine. She also liked the cows, calling the by mooing at them. She was a little afraid of the horses, but they are pretty big when you are 3 feet tall. Her favorite seemed to be the chickens and the rooster. she ran after them calling "doodle do, doodle do". I let amelia pick out a small gift from the general store. I picked out a license plate for her car that says "Mia" with a grant's farm frame. She was instantly drawn to her favorite thing ever - rocks. they had a cart with all kinds of shiny, brightly colored rocks. Amelia could have stayed there the entire day. We did manage to pick out 6-7 rocks and brought them home as a souvinor. She loves to look at them and count them over and over. Enjoy the picks!

ps - please note that purple baby made the trip - it's kinda like where's waldo. she can be spotted in almost all out pics!

here is amelia, being a rompa stompa. her daddy coined that term, just for her. she loves it! and she loves to hear her feet stomppin on the floors. and that face - that is "cheese" face. i get the smile every time i take the camera out. love this girl.
