Down on the farm

Today mommy and daddy took me to Grant's farm. I went with my friends our play group. Thomas was there - he was the only boy :) Mia and Tara also came with their mommie and daddies. . We had fun strolling around, saw some llamas, zebras, elephants, and some birds! It was raining when we left, but the sun peeked out and made it a nice day. My favorite was the elephant show. The elephant came out, played harmonica, took a bow and then waved goodbye to us with his ears. Can we teach Hugo to do that?? We also went on a train ride! Oh and don't forget the clydedale's - they were fun to see too!! I saw a HUGE turtle and Here are a few pics from Grant's farm!

Little Kipper

I am officially a little kipper. Mom and Dad signed me up for swimming lessons at the Y and I am in the shrimp and kipper class. Today was my first class. I have to say, the tub is more fun than this swimming stuff. Although i like the music selections that the choose, I am not fond of being dunked underwater. I kept it together and remained composed though. Never let them see you sweat , right? We sang songs like the wheels on the bus, row your boat and one about popcorn. We also played toss with some rubber duckies. that was my favorite part. I loved reaching for that duckie! I also learned to float on my back while mom and dad sang the alaphabet song. I look forward to going back next week - as long as I can keep my head above the water! Mom says look for pics next week - we used a film class this week and they have to be developed first!

FIrst trip to the little gym!

Today mommy took me to the little gym for a trial class. It was so much fun! We played with instruments, walked, ran, explored the gym, learned a somersault, and sang some songs! I had a great time - and even better my friend Mimi was there. She is a lot of fun - and did so much better than me at the sit still activities! I liked to toddle away while everyone else was sitting. Momma and Poppa I have a very wide independent streak - whatever that means :)

Feeling better!

I have been under the weather for the last week, but I am here to report that I am almost back to my old self! I even tolerated mom taking me outside for a couple of new pics! Hope you like them!

I am sick

I have a double ear infection - yuk! and i have had to deal with a temperature too. double yuk! My high was 104.4 - that is very hot for a baby! I have spent the last several days lying around on my parents and sleeping a lot. Momma and poppa have helped me feel better with warm bathes and lots of love. When I am frustrated, I have started biting too. I have been a handful! I hope i feel better soon!

I love my lovies!

When mommy was pregnant with me she made a few purchases for me in anticipation of my arrival. Some were practical, some - not so much. One thing she bought me was a blanket. Mommy had heard such good things about taggie blankets. Babies love tags, the feel, the texture etc. So she saw one on sale and got it. Then she happened along a boutique in kirkwood and stopped in. OH MY GOODNESS - mommy was in love. Everything there was so soft, so cute and oh so expensive! But let's focus on the soft shall we? There was a blanket there made by the little giraffe company. It was pink, small, soft and so snugly. Mommy read the tag and it talked about how it would hold the scent of the parent for baby's added security. Mommy was sold. With a gift card received as a present, mommy bought it. It was love at first touch for Amelia. Mommy like to believe it was because her and daddy followed the tag and kept it close to them prior to her arrival. The taggie blanket wasn't even a contender. The little giraffe doesn't have to go everywhere with Amelia, unless sleep will take place or she is feeling bad. After seeing how much I loved my little giraffe lovie - lots of other people bought me a lovie! I now have:

and lumpy/puffy - depends on who puts me to bed momma or poppa.
I have taken to sleeping with them all. Yes. I have 10 lovies in my bed!! TEN! I often snuggle up in the middle of all of them and drift off to sleep. I am quite happy with this arrangement - as long as I have my little giraffe in my hand, up by my face. It is definitely my favorite!

Ninja Warrior

Up to today, Amelia has had zero interest in TV. We routinely watch little einsteins once poppa has left for work - well, we sit still long enought to pat, pat, pat our laps and say blastoff to get rocket going. That's been it. On Saturday, poppa was watching the ninja warrior marathon on TV. It was scheduled to be on all weekend long. Momma happened to notice that I was standing really still and actually watching the TV! what?? watching the TV? Amelia? I guess i have been turning on all the wrong shows - backyardigans, little einsteins, the one with the blue bear, etc. All along she has been looking for something more exciting, something with action. She loved the Ninja Warrior! Maybe we will try MXC next!

Today is my 10 month birthday - Ten months! Each month holds more surprises and excitement then the last. This month I can walk, say momma, dada, uh oh, hi and bye. I have started to feed myself at times, and most recently have figured out how to go from a crawl to a stand then walk in the middle of the room. I have been busy learning all these new things. I can also shake my head no-no when i want. That seems to be my theme of late. When I want. I am nothing if not independent. I am wanting to feed myself more and walk everwhere. I will squirm to get down and do it myself. Look out world, here i come!! Here are my customary 10 month pictures.

Funny face :)

I have recently learned how to say Uh-Oh. Sometimes it comes out as Uh uh oh or Uh oh oh. Still, mommy finds it very funny and oh so cute! It's not really at the appropriate time, like after I fall or drop something. Just whenever I feel like it. I don't want to be too predictable. Last week I started to make the funniest face. I wrinkle up my nose and breathe in and out of my nose real fast. Mommy calls it my funny face. She says "what are you trying to do funny face?" It's really quite humorous. Mommy has been trying to get a good picture of me making funny fave for awhile to show everyone - here is what she was able to get!

Today is mother's day. Happy mother's day to all the mom's out there in Cyber-land who have stopped by to read my blog. Happy mother's day wished to my Buela, my nana and my granny de too! I love you all! Not only is today mother's day, it's my momma's first mother's day. Momma had an agenda for the day. Wake up, feed me, let me nap and then set up her backdrops for a quick photo shoot. Then we were going to get ready for church. That seems like a lot for a Sunday morning. Mommy's friend had bought a set of pinks scrubs and gave them to us for pictures. Mommy found the smallest pair of pink crocs for me to wear with them. she was very excited. I, however, had my own agenda. I wanted to get up, eat, nap and be cranky. This has been documented on film by mom. Here are a few of her favorite's.

Look out Bootylicious - here I come!!

It's official - I can walk! I have been working myself up to it. I have been taking 2 steps here and 3 steps there. Today, I walked across the living room! I took about 15-16 steps! I am a fill flegged walker! My first task as a walker is to find that cat! She is sneaky and tries to hide behind the sofa and the computer desk. I have found most of her hiding places and like to toddle over to her, squat down and reach out for her. From what mommy says, Bootylicious is less then pleased with my new found walking. I have gotten to actually touch her once or twice - she is so soft and fuzzy. Here are some pictures of me walking across the living room!

Here are some pictures that my sitter sent mommy! They were taken the first week that she kept me. I was barely sitting up. Note the boppy that is behind me for balance. I look so small here! The other set are more current - when i was going through my fall asleep at the drop of a hat phase. I would fall asleep in the high chair, in my exasauscer - just about anywhere.

Toddle toes

That's my new nickname from mommy - toddle toes. Can you guess how i got that nickname?? that's right - i took my first steps!! I have been cruising furniture for about a week and tonight while mommy and daddy were home, i took 2 steps! WOW! 2 steps. Mommy and daddy were so excited. They both clapped and cheered for me. it was so much fun!! I am such a big girl! I have discovered a new game too - airplane! it has become a favorite of mine! I love soaring through the air! I have also learned how to shake my head no! Mommy is sure my next word will be no-no! She is having to tell me no no more and more since I am mobile. My favorite things are the computer, the remote and the phone. And don't bother trying to fool me with a phony - i can spot a fake remote a mile away!

Another fun game that I love to play is giddy up horsie. Mommy and daddy both play this one with me. Mommy puts me on her knee and plays giddy up or trot little horsie. Daddy sits me on his foot and plays. It is so much fun. If you have a daddy, you should definatly try this! Make sure he hold on to your hands real good so you don't slip off!
